- What did you learn about life in the colonies from reading this document? I learned that in early life is that things was different in every colony. Each colony had an different lifestyle as living, farming and religous.
- What surprised you the most about what you read? What surprised me the most if that whene the New Englands built thuier house they gathered poles in the woods, and they made an circle and they bent them to form an arch for the roof. They bind them togerther with bark off trees and walnuts.
- Compare and contrast the differences between American life today and life for Americans during the colonial era. Today is that we doesnt hunt for food like in the colonial area. Also we make our roof for our house out of wood, but not bending them. The religions is different but not that different because, they study the same religons, and some have it in churches ,and some doesnt.

Unit 1-Assignment 1: Should I Stay or Should I Go?

1. What motivates immigrants to come to the United States (today)? Consider what they lose and what they can gain in your argument. I think what motivates immigrants to come to the United States is that; some come for a better life. Also United States is one of the most powerful countries there is, so that’s why some immigrants come. Immigrants that come will lose their old life styles and they will have to gain a new one. Something they will gain is more opportunities to learn, and good economics in the U.S. By gaining good economics and becoming a good learner, the immigrant wills become a better person.

2. Thousands of Europeans chose to move to the British colonies .Some for economic reasons and some for freedoms. If you decided to immigrate somewhere, would you move for economic reasons or for freedom? If I was to immigrate to another country I would go to china. I would go to china, because the economic is very good. All their goods are cheaper than the United States. I think I would like china better than the U.S. I would have to get use to their culture life, and the way things go over there. So that’s the only place I’ll I immigrate to, if I had to.
